Udaipur built by the Sisodia Rajputs, is situated in the lush green Girwa valley of the erstwhile Mewar State and its capital for 500 years, has been referred to by various names like the Venice of the East, Lake City etc. The city and its numerous palaces are majestically imposing. The city is spread around three wonderful water bodies, all centuries old man-made lakes. It is in this tranquil town on Lake Palace Road the imposing Rangniwas Palace stands.
The Palace is travellers little paradise. Maharaj Arjun Singh and family are still in residence. They take personal care of all the guests. A rare blend of period furnishings and modern comfort add to the serene atmosphere.
